Agen Secret Service atau pasukan pengamanan presiden Amerika Serikat (AS) menembak pria bersenjata di dekat Gedung Putih. Juru Bicara Gedung Putih menyebut pria tersebut dibawa ke rumah sakit.

Dilansir AFP, Minggu (9/3/2025), para agen Secret Service sebelumnya telah diperingatkan oleh polisi setempat tentang seorang pria 'yang ingin bunuh diri'. Pria itu bepergian ke Washington dari Indiana.

Pria tersebut kemudian berada di jalan yang sangat dekat dengan Gedung Putih. Agen Secret Service melepaskan tembakan kepada pria tersebut.

"Saat petugas mendekat, orang itu mengacungkan senjata api dan konfrontasi bersenjata pun terjadi, di mana tembakan dilepaskan oleh personel kami," kata Jubir Gedung Putih Anthony Guglielmi di X.

Pelaku saat ini dirawat di rumah sakit. Belum diketahui kondisi pelaku.
